FWAHU Donates $1,000 to Carnall\’s Kids
Congratulations to Michele Flood and her committee for a spectacular job planning and executing our Golf Tournament. Thanks to their tremendous effort, we were able to donate $1,000 to Carnall\’s Kids.
FWAHU Cleans up at TAHU Awards Banquet
Congratulations to FWAHU for an outstanding night at TAHU Awards Banquet. Not only did FWAHU win the Medium Chapter of the Year Award (tied with East Texas AHU), several local members took home individual awards.
FWAHU wins Chapter of the Year Award…again
FWAHU President Kelly Dills had the honor of accepting the Chapter of the Year Award at the annual TAHU Awards Banquet. This is the fourth year in a row that the Fort Worth chapter has received this award.

April Luncheon: Legislative Update
We are at a critical time in our careers; a critical time for our industry. The new administration in Washington and new legislature in Austin have health care; specifically health insurance in their cross-hairs and both intend to pass legislation that will place our careers in jeopardy. Kasey Buckner will share what the landscape looks like and give us the talking points we need to share with our clients.
Canned Food Drive at Every FWAHU Meeting

We will be accepting food donations to support the efforts of the Tarrant Area Food Bank at every FWAHU meeting this year. Remember to bring your canned food items to every meeting!
Aetna Helps FWAHU With Canned Food Drive
FWAHU has been collecting food for the Tarrant County Area Food Bank for the last several months. Wanting to help, some caring Aetna employees issued a challenge to their coworkers to see how much they could help us with our cause. The result? 142 pounds of food were collected for the month of February!
Ouida to Speak at November CE Day
Our November meeting will be a CE Day featuring FWAHU member, Ouida Peterson. Ouida will be presenting her unique versions of COBRA/HIPAA, Rebating and Ethics during our CE Day on November 13th. This will be a great meeting to bring clients, especially the 1 hour rebating program during lunch.
Medicare Vendor Day a Huge Success
FWAHU\’s first annual Medicare Vendor Day was a huge success! We had Sponsors and Vendors representing Medicare Advantage and Medicare Supplement carriers, General Agencies, and FMO’s, along with 3 CE programs throughout the day.
September Luncheon: Day at the Capitol In a Box
Our luncheon program for September featured the TAHU ‘Day at the Capitol in a Box’ presentation. Our TAHU Lobbyist, Lee Manross, along with TAHU Treasurer Misty Baker, presented three programs designed to help us all with the important task of working with our own state legislators to help shape the debate on health care issues.
