COBRA SUBSIDY REVISITED – Every Letter Must Change

It was only a few months ago that Ouida Peterson educated and entertained FWAHU members and their clients about COBRA and the COBRA subsidy, so do you really need to attend this class?  YES!!!  Why? Because, as you have probably heard, the subsidy for eligible continuation participants has been extended. But that doesn’t mean the rules are the same…

Along with the extension come new eligibility rules, new COBRA notice requirements, and new COBRA letters. And once again, the timeline is short and requires communications to be sent to all qualified beneficiaries based on their status as of November 1st, 2009. This seminar will explain the new rules along with the reporting and communications required. We will also review some of the most misunderstood areas of the original subsidy law and discuss the future of the COBRA subsidy.

Ouida Peterson is the Vice President of Education at CONEXIS and a former president of FWAHU.

Over lunch, we’ll discuss the status of health reform now that the super-majority in the senate is no more. Like COBRA, everything’s changing…

We’ll also take a look at the new FWAHU website, which will go live in the next couple weeks. We think you’ll like love it.

And finally, we’ll give you a preview of what to expect in the upcoming months, including the annual golf tournament in April, our awards luncheon in June, and, of course, more legislative updates.

Please RSVP by Tuesday, February 9th at www.FWAHU.org.
