New FWAHU member Lorraine Tune began her career in the insurance industry in 2004, with Martin Insurance Group out of San Antonio, TX. About a year later, they merged with one of the larger brokers in that area, Summit Insurance Group. It was at Summit that Lorraine feels she found her niche as a Small Group Account Manager. Her role involved everything from running quotes to resolving customer service issues and complex claims issues. In addition, she helped compile quote spreadsheets, conducated enrollment presentations in English and Spanish, and also worked her renewals each year.
In 2007, she met her husband, Michael, and moved to Garland , TX , where after a short time she found a role on the GA side of our industry. Currently she joins us from Foster Benefit Resources, which is a local servicing office for United Healthcare, PacifiCare and Unicare. She assists brokers in growing and retaining their group medical book of business by handling many of their regular needs: carrier quoting, enrollment meetings, installation, customer service, and renewals. Lorraine’s role as a marketing representative is to stay out in front of the broker, assist with enrollment presentations, keep her brokers informed with the most current industry and carrier information, answer benefit questions…basically anything that makes the broker’s life easier during the sales process!
Lorraine tells FWAHU that she loves what she does for a living, and so it seemed a natural extension of that to become part of an organization that provides her the opportunity to network with brokers all over Fort Worth and surrounding areas. Since Foster Benefit Resources is active with TAHU, she felt encouraged as their employee to be a member. She hopes to forge strong relationships with brokers throughout Fort Worth and be able to offer her expertise when the need arises.
When she isn’t working, Lorraine likes to keep up with national news and is currently trying to learn to cook, and she humbly acknowledges she has a ways to go on that front. Enjoying the company of her husband, she also is still familiarizing herself with many of the local attractions that both Dallas and Fort Worth have to offer.
Welcome Lorraine – and we are glad you have joined our chapter!
